New Certainteed Flintlastic SA SBS Modified Bitumen Roof

This townhouse was in need of a new roof due to several leaks and many layers of roofing being present. All layers of roofing were removed, down to the roof sheathing. All sheathing was repaired as needed to ensure that the roof structure would last for many years to come. A layer of 1” PolyISO insulation was mechanically fastened to the sheathing to provide an insulation layer and a good base for the roofing system. An insulation factor of R6 was achieved by doing this.

A mid layer of Certainteed Flintlastic SA Ply-Base was installed on all roof and flashing areas. A new drain and roof ventilation was installed on the roof. A finish layer (“cap sheet”) was installed over all roof and flashing areas. Certainteed Flintlastic SA SBS Modified Bitumen roofing materials were used. This roof is Energy Star and Cool Roof Council Rated as a “cool roof”.
